Wool and summer!

It has been sunny and warm summer but sadly it seems to be over soon. It feels freezing outside and suddenly I realized that I haven't updated anything to here. My dear blog has been sadly neglected for a long time even I have had new knits that have been ready some time!

In the spring I got a chance to be one of the test knitters for Ilona (Ilun handu duunaa) and her beautiful traditional sock design. She even send me the yarns!

Yarn: Pirkanmaan kotityö Kirjo-Pirkka

Needles: 2,75 mm

These socks are beautiful and I really love the bird pattern but sadly my calfs are too wide to fit in them properly. Sigh...I have to give them to someone. I hope I can find someone who appreciates them as much as I do! :)

Suomalainen mysteerisukka

Finally finished! The Finnish Mystery Sock kept me in suspense all the way to the end. I ran out of yarn therefore I drew up different kind of ending. :)

Pattern / Ohje: Suomalainen mysteerisukka by Jenni Österman (rav it)

Yarn / Lanka: Gjestal Maija, Vuorelma Veto and Handu Merino/alpakkasukkalanka, 120 g

Needles / Puikot: 3.0mm

Viimeinkin ne ovat valmiit. Mysteerisukat pitivät minut jännityksessä loppuun asti. Keltainen pohjalanka loppui kesken joten kehitin varpaisiin ihan jotain muuta omasta päästä. :)

Kotikissa-socks

I have a new pair of socks, finally! I knitted the second sock the day before yesterday but of course it took one extra day to sew the buttons and tuck the loose ends in. You see I have this thing about finishing off my handiworks. :D

Yarn / Lanka: Wollmeise Twin 136 grams (Schwammerl and Schwarz)

Needles / Puikot: 2.5 mm

Viimeinkin minulla on uusi pari sukkia! Sain toisen sukan neulottua valmiiksi toissapäivänä, mutta yllättäen meni vielä yksi päivä koota voimansa ja neuloa napit kiinni ja äheltää langanpäät piiloon. Jostain syystä suurta tuskaa minulle aiheuttaa aina kaikkien käsitöiden viimeistely. :D
